Help us celebrate "May's Mental Health Month" with our Annual "Mile of Pennies!"
Abraham Lincoln is considered one of the greatest presidents to serve our nation but many people don't realize that the 16th president struggled with depression and mental illness throughout his life. Lincoln's ability to overcome these hurdles is commemorated annually by Sanctuary House's Mile of Pennies campaign. This year's fund-raiser will be held on Thursday, May 24th.
May is Mental Health Month, and this event raises awareness and money for Sanctuary House, which offers an array of services for adults with mental illness located in downtown Greensboro.
May 24th - Lincoln's Trail/ "Mile of Pennies" event will take place 10-4pm at Sanctuary House (518 N. Elm Street, Greensboro). The 'laying down' of a mile of pennies will begin on Elm Street in front of Sanctuary House at 10am, and continue tall day or until a full mile of pennies is laid - exactly 84,480 pennies!
Lunch will begin at 11:30am and treats will be provided by A Sweet Success! Bakery, Sanctuary House's own sweet shop. Bakery items will be available for sale throughout the day. We have lots of fun planned for all ages! |
