Employment Program The first paycheck can be the first step. "60-70% of the individuals with severe mental illness want to work in competitive employment, but only 15% are in fact working. Research also suggests that less than 25% of individuals with severe mental illness receive any form of vocational assistance." Work is one of the central ingredients to Sanctuary House. In the Employment Program, membes are offered the opportunity to reach their employment goals through the support of the clubhouse. Members who have been involved in the daily programming offered at Sanctuary House may choose to further enhance their skills by taking part of the Transitional or Supported/Community Employment programs.
