Social/Recreational
A sense of insecurity and isolation can be a common side effect of mental illness - an attitude that adults with mental illness are "different," and unable to interact socially or form lasting friendships. That’s why the feeling of warmth and support found at Sanctuary House is all the more striking.
Sanctuary House offers a range of social and recreational activities. Members come together for a game of basketball or softball, plan and put on parties, picnics and receptions. "Movie night" gives members a time to relax and get to know one another.
Like all friends, at Sanctuary House, members find strength and support in one another and no longer feel alone.
